Brazilian Slate

Brazilian slate has very little sheen and is appreciated for it's uniformity.  It is typically a medium to high quality material if bought from a reputable vendor.  It is a very hard slate that can be split thin enough to weigh less than 6 lbs. per square foot. Useful for homes unable to support thick slate.  It comes in:

Light Gray
A low sheen slate with a relatively smooth surface, but highly texted edges.

Charcoal Gray
A dark gray slate with low sheen, a smooth surface and highly textured edges.

Multi-Color
As the gray slates are split somes pieces have a rich blend of colors on the surface.  These slates are sorted as multi-color.
